ET Report
Jammu, July 29: Your newspaper Early Times publishing the list of people having fake Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs) in Jammu has created ripples in the winter capital. Early Times taking a bold step to expose the big guns in Jammu has been appreciated by all the sections of the society.
The Non Government Organization "People's Action & Public Accountability-PAPA" while appreciating the bold exposure termed it a daring and honest outcome of journalism.
In a statement here a spokesman of PAPA said: "After a very long time such a daring journalism was observed by a Jammu's daily i.e. Early Times for which its management deserves all appreciation."
"Fake networking related to Permanent Resident Certificates is also active in other parts of the state particularly in Kashmir valley but this network enjoys the full support of corrupt ruling politicians and their puppet administration and biased media," the PAPA spokesman alleged.
"No government ever questioned the accountability of so-called State Subject Commission of the state which has become a burden on the state exchequer," he added.
The spokesman alleged, "Huge number of west Pakistani residents after getting registration in Punjab, have purchased thousand of kanals of land within Tawi island of Jammu on the basis of fake state subjects," he claimed.
" One hopes that bold initiative of Early Times will benefit the aggrieved state residents and would wake up the state government from deep slumber. One hopes big fishes will be trapped and stern action would be taken against them as this rich section which is responsible for ruining the entire system and making it corrupt," the spokesman added.
He claimed these people have purchased thousands of kanals land at prime locations in Jammu by greasing the palms of politicians, bureaucrats and police officers. "There is a big nexus and it needs to be exposed. Early Times has taken a lead and has acted as whistle blower. One hopes the ET expose shakes the conscience of people at the helm," he added.
The spokesman claimed that that thousands of people have managed to get government jobs on the basis of fake degrees and diplomas which also needs to be scrutinized. "We hope, the other media houses will also follow the daring attitude of Early Times and expose the corrupt and fake networks within state,"
The PAPA spokesman appeal the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to take care of need to protect the Early times and the bold journalists associated with the daily.
