| Terming injustice, BSP condemns JU authorities move to rename 'Ambedkar Road' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 1: Describing change of name of Dr Ambedkar road to 'Gujjar Basti' will be a great injustice with peoples of Jammu region, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has condemned the move of university authorities for 'renaming' of Ambedkar Road- leading to Jammu University' and resolved to oppose the move tooth and nail.
In a joint statement issued today Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leaders today stated that BSP came into existence in 1984 and was floated by Manywar Kanshi Ram ji a mass leader of down trodden masses of India. "The party is based on the ideology and philosophy of Bharat Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar who is known as father of Indian Constitution and is remembered by the down trodden for his selfless mission to save their rights in constitution, and to acknowledge his accomplishments towards community a statue of Dr Ambedkar was erected in Jammu and the road stretch from Bikarm Chowk to the rotary where this Statue is situated is dedicated to Bharat Ratna Dr Ambedkar.'
"But to our surprise it has been gathered that name of Dr.Ambedkar road is going to be changed with the malafied intention of some misdeed elements, the signatories of statement resented and condemned the move by the authorities who have uploaded the website of Jammu University showing its location at Gujjar Basti.
They cautioned that the Party will oppose the move tooth and nail and stated any change of name of Dr Ambedkar road will be a great injustice with peoples of Jammu region particularly the down trodden people.
Bahujan Samaj Party warn any such move to disturb peaceful atmosphere will not tolerable. Instead install a big sign board at Bikram Chowk Dr Ambedkar Chowk Road leading toward Railway head.
This will be viewed as good sign of gesture toward peace loving masses of Jammu Region.
