Balakote, Aug 19: Dozens of livestock have fallen to continued to border shelling in district Poonch. The residents have strongly flayed the politicians for their apathy. The residents believe that they visit the areas only during election. According to reports, mortar shells and bullets continue to pound in the interior of villages and on Wednesdayfor the fourth consecutive day. The firing started at 1 PMand continued till reports last came in. Nearly 25 schools, health centers, connecting roads to border villages are closed, creating hurdles for villagers. Villagers informed that most of families have been migrated but livestock and some family members were still residing there, despite threat to their lives. "State government as well as Union government has failed to make any arrangement including safer places, food items, kerosene oil beside other", a villager said. The villagers also said that nearly a dozen livestock have been killed in the firing and dozens others have also sustained bullets but so far no veterinary team has visited the villagers, due to which injured livestock were ultimately succumbing. |
