Doda, Aug 19 : Protests broke out in Doda and Samba districts of Jammu region over two separate issues by hundred of students against teachers. Students in Bhagwah area of Doda district today protested outside the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Doda against their teachers, who did not allow them to sing national anthem yesterday during morning assembly. "The students of Government School, Bhagwah, Doda have alleged that some of the teachers did not allow them to sing National Anthem in the morning Assembly," police here said. They said that the students protested against the teachers."An inquiry into an incident has been ordered by the concerned DC to be conducted by the ACR," Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu said. Kotwal said that if proved, action based on the report submitted by the ACR will be initiated accordingly. Meanwhile, in another incident hundreds of students this morning blocked Jammu-Pathankot national highway at Samba over shortage of teachers in the school. "The students alleged that there are no sufficient teachers in Government School Samba due to which their studies are effecting," a police official said. He said that the concerned authorities assured them appointment of staff in days following which they dispersed and the traffic on the highway resumed. |
