JAMMU, Aug 19: Inspired by the 'School Nursery Scheme' of the Ministry of Environment and also to sensitize students on the value of tree plantation, Sprawling Buds School, Bantalab, near here took an initiative to organize a tree plantation drive on school campus. All the students were involved in plantation of various saplings in the school compound. Accompanying the students, Gardener offered friendly tips so to ensure that each sapling was carefully tended. Students became acquainted with the common names of the saplings like Neem, Tulsi, Jamun, Ashwagandha etc. A discussion of students on the topic 'Importance of Plantation' was also conducted wherein students discussed the importance of trees for the survival of human beings. Students also expressed their concern over the deteriorating environment and pledged to save their mother earth from Global warming threat.
