Hiranagar, Aug.27: Police claimed to have arrested one narcotics smuggler - a Dabha owner (Food Point) along with 06 kgs of poppy straw (Bhukki), Poppy buds and etc. A case NDPS Act stands registered against accused
The arrested has been identified as Chain Singh S/o Shoba Ram R/o Reasi who owned Dhabha (food point) and also used to sell poppy straw to truck drivers/ locals.
"On specific information, SHO Hiranagar Sarbjeet Singh Timmy with the direction of SSP Kathua and supervision of SDPO Border raided on a Dhabha at Chann Rorian, police sources said and added they apprehended one suspect for his suspicious movements." "During the search of his belongings the police team recovered 06 kgs Poppy straw, poppy buds and grinder being used for grinding Poppy buds, police added. Police lodged case under section 8/15 of NDPS Act and further investigation is on. |
