Primary School lacks basic facilities, students forced to sit on ground

Udhampur, Aug 27: Time and again the condition of government schools across the state hits the media limelight for their dismal conditions as infrastructure of government schools is so ailing that students are forced to sit on the ground and Govt Primary School Dada -Da -Naal established in the year 2010 is a recent living example where only seven enrolled students of school are forced to sit on ground.
The recent live example of Govt Primary School Dada -Da -Naal established with great fanfare just five year ago i.e. in 2010 and was dedicated to the people by the former MLA but the school within five years turned to be in poor condition.
Locals and students said, 'The condition of the school is very bad and due to apathetic approach of authorities only seven students have sought admission while two teachers have got privilege to teach them. "The teachers one regular and other ReT are seen least bothered to show their dutifulness towards their entrusted responsibilities and teaching is at the worst level, locals alleged further adding that no corrections are being marked whenever the countable seven students of different classes make some mistakes.
Locals and guardian of the students also alleged that the mid day meal offered to the students is not worth to consume reasons better known to the concerned teachers and others at the helms of affairs. "The school has no desks and thus the students are forced to sit on ground, locals said, adding, "there is no facility of safe drinking water and class rooms with roofs looming down giving a sense of being unsafe compelling students and teachers to prefer to sit outside, they lamented and questioned the tall claims of education authorities of providing quality education is government schools.
When contacted, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Udhampur briefly said he will look into the matter and resolve the problems of the school in question. He however reassured to uplift the said school where students will get quality education.
