JAMMU, Sept 30: Sanik Colony Sector-C Development Committee today held meeting under the chairmanship of Kuldeep Choudary here at Park-6. According to press release, during the meeting problem being faced by people of the sector was discussed. It was observed that roads are dilapidated. Big potholes are full of stagnant water, and have become breeding places of mosquitoes. No work for the repair of roads has been taken up so far despite repeated representations. ERA took nearly seven years to get an over- head water tank completed. During testing it was found that over- head water tank is leaking from all sides. One year passed there is tug of war between ERA and PHE department regarding handing and taking over exercise. Over-head tank has not been operational so far. It is stated that the supply of water is erratic and deplorable. Water is supplied twice in a week and duration is half an hour. Government is also a part of this vicious circle. People of the Sainik Colony were advised by the Committee not to get agitated. As a civilized society, we should not take law into our hands. During meeting it was also decided if the demands are not met, the people of the area will go for peaceful agitation. Sohan Singh, Master Chib, Col. Hans Raj. Col, Atma Singh, Vijay Choudhary, Dy.SP(retd), Dr. Manmohan Sigh and R.S.Manhas, R.S. Andotra and Bali were also present in meeting. |
