3 booked for misappropriation of CAPD sugar

Kishtwar, Sept 30: Acting on the specific information regarding the misappropriation of sugar of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department, police seized four quintal of ration meant for distribution among the people of Th akrai area falling under jurisdiction of police station Kishtwar. It was being allegedly black marketed with the alleged involvement of a CAPD dealer.
While talking to "Early Times" SP Kishtwar Youghal Manhas said that on the basis of specific input about black marketing of government sugar meant for the distribution among the people of Thakrai, police party was deputed to the suspected area who accordingly conduct the raid at specific location and seized two quintal of Sugar at first instance and later another two quintal Sugar consignment was also seized from the same place. He said that on seeing the Police party , one shopkeeper namely Manzoor Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Rasool Lone resident of Sheikhpura Sarawan Thakrai carrying Two Quintals of CAPD sugar fled from the spot by leaving the sugar bags behind, added the accused manage to escape from the spot by taking advantage of thick maize crops. He said that upon this FIR no 169/2015 u/s 409 RPC, 3/7 Essential Commodities Act was registered in Police Station Kishtwar. He said that during the course of the investigation, three persons namely Nek Ram son of Chand Ram resident of Pakalan Thakrai( Dealer CAPD), Manzoor Ahmed lone son of Ghulam Rasool Lone resident of Sheikpura Sarawan Thakrai.(Shopkeeper) and Chaman Lal son of Paras Ram resident of Sarawan Thakrai.(Shopkeeper) surfaced and was accordingly booked. He said that all the accused are absconding and police teams have been launched to trace and arrest them. Meanwhile the people of village Kunda, Pakalan in Thakraialleged that the dealer did not have a good track record. They also levelled serious allegations against Nek Ram and urged upon the SP Kishtwar to investigate this scam in-depth and take strict action against the guilty persons involved in this frauds so that general public of Thakrai will get justice.
