RAMBAN, Sept 30: On the directions of District Development Commissioner, Ramban Bashir Ahmed Dar a joint team of State Pollution Control Board Ramban, Municipal Committee (MC) Ramban and Police carried out a surprise checking in the Cafeteria market, Bus stand, Main bazar, Upper bazar, Masjid market, Bouli bazaar, Peer baba market, Lower Maitra, Gool Chowk, Upper Maitra and MP post and seized 30 kg of banned polythene carry bags from the shopkeepers. During the inspection, the team led by Divisional Officer State Pollution Control Board Ramban Kuldeep Bhan, Executive Officer MC Ramban Zubaida Parveen and officials carried out extensive searches inside shops in these markets. Bhan warned shopkeepers to desist from using this banned material which could attract a penalty of upto Rs 5000 or imprisonment for one month. |
