Ramban, Sept 30: As part of a drive to evict the recorded and unrecorded illegal encroachment from the forests, a team led by the Divisional Forest Officer, Batote Zahid Aslam Mughal and assisted by the Forest Protection Force Gama Unit J-9 officials under the supervision of Conservator of Forests, MP Dogra retrieved 95 Kanal forest land.
According to a handout issued by the Forest department the team including DFO, Zahid, Deputy Director, FPF, J-9 Gama Unit, Rajan Singh ,Ranger, SS Chib carried a raid at village Ballout in district Ramban and destroyed a standing maize crop on the 95 Kanal encroached forest land by a family.
Noor Illahi, basically a resident of Nowshera, Mohd.Hafiz and Mohd. Arshad, the latter two being brothers have been allegedly under the illegal possession of 50 Kanal, 40 Kanal and 5 Kanal of forest land since long. The raiding team also destroyed the brushwood and standing maize crop on the spot. Reportedly two houses have also been constructed illegally on the encroached forest land. |
