Govt initiates secret exercise to identify teachers in private coaching institutes
11/16/2015 11:45:10 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 16: After issuing several illogical guidelines to the private coaching centres in Jammu and Kashmir, the State Government is now learnt to have initiated a secret exercise to identify the Government teachers and Professors providing services in these institutes. According to the sources, the CID wing of J&K Police has been directed to prepare list of such Government teachers, Lecturers, Professors and other State employees, who used to take classes in such institutes. For the purpose, sources added, CID sleuths are maintaining a close watch on these tuition centres and scanning the teachers visiting there.
The direction for preparing list of such teachers has been issued from the office of Education Minister Naeem Akhtar and the Government move is aimed to tighten noose around the private coaching and tuition centres, sources explained.
It may be recalled that the State Government had recently issued a circular listing a number of regulations for the private coaching/tuition centres. As per these regulations, norms were laid down for fee etc besides mandatory admission to ten percent poor students without charging any fee. Admission of students, without fee, would be made on the recommendation of Director School Education. The Government move is being viewed as an attempt of the Education Minister to hit the private coaching institutes, majority of which are operating in Jammu and where students from Kashmir Valley have also been getting tuition.
While elaborating, sources alleged that the entire exercise of tightening noose around coaching centres is to ensure that maximum students from Kashmir Valley may be accommodated in these coaching institutes without paying fee.
Ironically, the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party, which claims to be voice of Jammu, has not uttered even a single word over the dictatorial order of the Government and its move against Jammu youth, who are getting coaching as well as employment in these caching centres.
