Jammu, Nov 24: Dogra Educational Trust celebrated world heritage week with a flurry of activities from 19th to 25th November 2015. According to press release, the bugle was sounded by Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Education, Information and Broadcasting on 18th Nov 2015 when she invoked all educational institutions to engage youth in creating awareness regarding protection of Cultural Heritage. In this context, Debating Competition, Heritage walks to Uttarbehni, Purmandal and Mubarak Mandi Complex were organised by the three colleges of Dogra Educational Trust. To culminate the week long celebrations, a photography exhibition was conducted wherein students from the trinity of colleges participated enthusiastically, displaying various pictures of heritage monuments in and around Jammu. The winners for the events were First prize to Sakshi Charak (DDC) Second prize to Abhinanadan Raina (DLC) and Third prize to Sumiti (DCE). Gracing the occasion with their presence were Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman Dogra Educational Trust; Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary DET; Prof (Dr) KL Bhatia, Director Law; SC Khajuria, Director Administration and Campus Development; Shefali Sharma, Principal Dogra College of Education; Poonam Gupta, Principal Dogra Degree College and the event was ably organized by Academic Coordinator Bela Thakur and Priyanka Sharma in collaboration with the faculty of all three colleges. |
