Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 19: In the Akhnoor sex scandal, the role of a pimp, an employee of state government who pushed the victim into the flesh trade, is nowhere in sight. While securitising the Call Detail Records (CDR) of the girl's cellphone, police discovered that the pimp, a state government employee, had made her frequent calls. Despite that, the concerned police were making no efforts to question him too, according to police sources. It is worthwhile to mention here that after being disappointed by the police investigation, the victim's father has already moved the high court, alleging that police were not following the procedure while investigating the case. However, police are claiming that raids to arrest the accused, who were absconding, are on, but 11 days have been passed and no arrest has been made other than four accused who were arrested on December 9. Pertinently, December 2, 2015, one Surinder Kumar of Akhnoor lodged a complaint with Akhnoor police that his minor daughter, who left home on November 12, 2015, had allegedly been abducted by one Abhi of Pathankot. On this complaint, a case under FIR No 221/2015 under section 363 of RPC was registered at Akhnoor police station and a police team was deputed to trace the missing girl. She was recovered from the possession of Gulshan Kumar alias Abhi, son of Tarseem Lal of Dhangu Road, Old Sabzi Mandi, Pathankot. During the course of investigation, the girl disclosed that she had been sexually exploited by several other people including some businessmen of Akhnoor. Though police initially arrested four accused, the influential businessmen and the Congress leader who were also named by the victim before the Municipal Judge are alleged to be roaming free. |
