ARTO Udhampur realizes Rs 11000 as fine from traffic rules violators

UDHAMPUR, Jan 23: Launching a special drive against the habitual violators of traffic rules particularly the two wheeler riders, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) is conducting surprise checking at various points in Udhampur town. Since last two days as many as 22 two wheelers were challaned while 85 such vehicles were compounded and Rs 11000 was realized as fine from the offenders on the spot. During the drive, the MVD team made aware the general public on the benefits of wearing crash helmets.
They appealed the two wheeler riders to wear the helmets for ensuring their safety and also asked them not to ply the vehicles without valid documents. This drive was conducted on the direction of District Development Commissioner, Udhampur under the supervision of ARTO Udhampur Rajesh Gupta.
