JAMMU, Jan 23: Unhappy with the allotment of a PSO for his safety, an ex-MLA of Kashmir forced the police headquarters (PHQ) to allot him another PSO of his choice.
PHQ changed his PSO some time back in a routine exercise being carried out by it for the past several years, and allotted him another PSO, who was not known to him. Since the new PSO, a selection grade cop, belonged to Jammu, he insisted that he be allotted a PSO of Kashmir, according to police sources.
He took up the matter with PHQ but did not get any response. He also harassed the PSO, but that also did not work. He then personally went to the PHQ and met the senior officers who were known to him. With their help, he got the PSO of Kashmir allotted to him, sources said.
"The new PSO is from IRP and is related to an acquaintance of the ex-MLA," sources informed.
In this context, he got a written order issued from the PHQ, sources said. |
