Sainik Colony Task Force, eyewash | | | Avinash Azad Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 5: Taking a jibe at the Task Force, constituted by Registrar Cooperative Societies to probe irregularities in SCHBS, stakeholders have claimed that it is merely eyewash coupled with an unambiguous motive to buy time and hoodwink the Raj Bhawan. Sources informed Early Times that enquiry committee headed by Joint Registrar, constituted to probe irregularities taken place in SCHBS, and the report had been submitted in month of December 2015, but instead of taking action the registrar hoodwinking Raj Bhawan has constituted task force to buy time. Terming the task force constituted by Registrar Cooperative Societies, 16-RCS/LS of 2016, dated February 1, 2016, as eye wash, the sources said that the it is an attempt to shield the black sheep, running the affairs of Sainik Cooperative House Building Society Ltd. (SCHBS), Sainik Colony, Jammu. "The enquiry conducted by the then Joint Registrar, Cooperative Societies J&K Inder Jeet had recommended action against those who were involved in misappropriation committed on land meant for Defence Personnel only", sources said, adding that the stakeholder had submitted a memorandum to Governor, seeking action against the guilty. "Action should be taken against chairman and management committee of SCHBS on basis of finding of reports which had been submitted earlier. Who are responsible for tampering bye-laws", the Joint Registrar had recommended, sources said, adding that he had also sought action against chairman and management committee for not providing of SCHBS record to the Enquiry Officer. "The SCHBS be directed to provide information of all encroachments and violations of bye laws that has taken place after July 2013. And action should be taken as per rule against those found involved in such encroachment", recommended in the inquiry reported submitted in December 2015, sources said. They alleged that there were some officers in Cooperative Societies, who along with chairman and management committee of SCHBS were involved in irregularities. "It was huge scam involving several hundred crores, that's why Raj Bhawan and masses of State are being made fool by constituting such task force", they added. The stake holders have urged upon Governor NN Vohra personally intervene in matter to unearth the scam at SCHBS. When contacted, Registrar Cooperative Society, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad said that what he did was a legal way to deal with the situation prevailing in the SCHBS. "I have also written, State Government for further action", he said. |
