Madhav likely to attend Mufti's 'chehlum' tomorrow

JAMMU, Feb 13: BJP national general secretary and incharge J&K, Ram Madhav, who was the main architect of PDP-BJP alliance in the state as well as the Agenda of Alliance between two parties, is likely to visit Srinagar on February 15 to participate in the 'chehlum' (40th) of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed on Monday.
According to sources Madhav who is inGuwhati will straightway reach Union Capital on Sunday wherefrom he will fly to Srinagar on Monday morning to participate in the 'chehlum' of Mufti.
Later Madhav will also have an informal meeting with PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, and the two leaders will likely discuss the pros and cons of government formation in the State.
Sources said that both BJP and PDP leadership has realized that the imposition of Governor's rule was not in the larger interestof the people of the State which has undergone 26 year long turmoil and faced lot of destruction and devastation over the years.
The leaders of two parties who will have one to one meeting will also discuss the gains as well as the shortcomings of last 10 months coalition headed by Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and the agenda of development undertaken and the shortcomings whatsoever faced during the period.
The BJP will assure Mehbooba all support in rebuilding of the State infrastructure as well as moral support in running the Government to win over the hearts of the people of all three regions of the State.
Madhav will assure full support from his party in running the coalition successfully to the best satisfaction of the people of all three regions and BJP instead of providing thrust one particular region will impress upon PDP leadership that the coalition should pay equal attention to all three regions of the State including Ladakh.
Madhav will try to allay the fears of Mehbooba which she expressed recently regarding the delay in release of package especially for flood victims and other people. It may be recalled that two parties have already declared that the agenda of alliance was corner stone for the coalition and there will be no deviation in it.
The BJP leader will reiterate his stand on the agenda of alliance and assured the PDP leader that Party will not give any credence to controversies for the smooth running of coalition for the full term.
Meanwhile the BJP national vice president Avinash Rai Khanna is also expected to visit Jammu and later Srinagar on Monday.
