Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 13: Though it sounds surprising, it is true. The government-run Chopra Nursing Home at GMCH here houses all female Medical Officers (MOs), with no space for males to serve in the clinic. Owing to this nature of the appointments in the nursing home, GMCH administration is under severe criticism. Only female MOs have been appointed there for the last more than five years, according to official sources. In the last over five years, the GMCH administration had not appointed a single male MO at the nursing home, thus making it a health institution that was being run exclusively by female MOs, sources said, saying, "This puts a question mark on the GMCH administration." Sources said there was no one to supervise the nursing home as after 2013, the deputy medical superintendent of GMCH had been looking into its affairs. Before that the nursing home had a separate administrative head. "In the absence of separate authority for the nursing home, the appointments remain influenced by vested interests, who are hell bent to turn it into an institution which serves their personal interests," sources alleged. |
