Early Times Report
Mendhar, Mar 13 : Residents of Salwah Village have been facing scarcity of drinking water for the past seven days due to construction of road under PMGSY as the supply pipe line has been damaged due to the ongoing works taking place in the area.
Residents of Salwah village staged a protest against the PHE authorities here on Sunday and blamed the officials for the mess. " These officials allowed the road construction from lower Salwah to upper Salwah under PMGSY at the behest of a Sarpanch without conducting a proper survey for the road. They should have taken the safety of the pipeline into consideration before starting the road construction," protesters said.
When contacted AEE, Israr Ahmed Khan told Early Times that he is aware of the matter and has put the same before Sub Divisional Magistrate. The people of the Salwah Village have genuine demand and our efforts are on to restore the water supply on priority, Khan said.
