Rajesh Tandon MENDHAR, Apr 18: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Mendhar, Monday placed under suspension 10 employees of Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Mendhar, for dereliction of duties. Official sources said when Mendhar SDM Sher Singh and tehsildar Salam Din conducted a surprise visit of the ITI, they found that 10 employees were absent from duties. All of them were placed under suspension. Sources identified them as Deepak Sharma, Vacationer Instructor, Ibrahim Khan, Motor Mechanic Instructor, Shamim Akhtar and Mohammad Azad, both Computer Instructors, Rubina Akhtar, Fashion Technology Instructor, Shazia Chaudhary, Guest Faculty Math and Science, Shafqat Hussain, Welder Instructor, Jaswant Singh Sudan, Head Clerk, Mahroof Ahmed, Workshop Attendant, and Umar Shehzad, Chowkidar. As most of the trades, classrooms, workshops and laboratories were closed, students were found wandering in the ITI premises. "Most of the staff members posted at ITI Mendhar hardly attend their duties and remain absent most of the time, thus badly affecting the functioning of the institution," SDM observed while placing the employees under suspension. The SDM also found that the attendance of some employees, who were absent, had been marked as present. He took a serious note of it. Sher Singh directed the treasury officer, Mendhar, against drawl of salary of the suspended employees and asked the ITI Superintendent to charge-sheet the suspended employees and submit a report regarding mismanagement of the institute. |
