SAMBA, Apr 18: Two motorcycle-borne youth have been apprehended by police for allegedly snatching Rs 400 from a in Vijaypur market a few days back. They were identified as Sajjan, son of Sadanand of Baba Jot Ram Basti, Faridkot in Punjab, and Sarvan, son of Suraj Bhan of Jhuggian near Indira Colony, Mini Majra, Chandigarh. Both of them were at present residing at Shiv Nagar, Vijaypur, and had been working as painters. Daljit Singh, son of Ravail Singh of Raya, Vijaypur, lodged a report with Vijaypur police station, alleging therein that the accused came to his kiryana shop on their motorcycle (PB37F/7464) on April 13, 2016 and purchased oil. Showing him a Rs 500 note, they asked him to pay back Rs 400 after deducting the cost of oil. However, when he was paying them Rs 400, they snatched the cash from him and sped away, he alleged. Acting on his complaint, cops laid a naka near Vijaypur Sabzi Mandi and caught hold of the accused after they tried to flee on seeing the police personnel. The motorcycle was also seized. Police had registered a case against them under section 382/34 of RPC. |
