Jammu, Apr 18: With the arrest of a thief and recovery of stolen cash from his possession, the Gangyal police today claimed to have cracked a theft case in Shiv Temple Gangyal.
Police spokesman said, "Under operation Meghdoot, launched by SSP Jammu, today Inspector Aijaz Wani, SHO Gangyal arrested one Sodi Lal s/o Malkeet Singh of Mrakhari Mohalla, Gangyal and recovered donation box alongwith cash stolen from Shiv Temple Gangyal on the other day. "A complaint was lodged by Management Committee Shiv Temple, Gangyal on April 17, stating that some unknown persons have stolen the donation box of the Temple, police said, adding, "accordingly a case under FIR No. 49/2016 u/s 380 and 457 of RPC was registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation were started. "During investigation, many suspects were rounded-up, police said, while adding, "one suspect Sodi Lal confessed his crime i.e. stealing the donation box from Shiv Temple Gangyal.' "On his disclosures police team also recovered the donation box and cash also", said spokesman. |
