Jammu, Apr 18: Police today claimed to have arrested two narcotics smugglers alongwith 5 kgs of ganja from their possession during naka checking at Gangyal area. A case has been registered in this regard.
The accused have been identified as Yash Paul s/o Dina Nath of Patyari, Bishnah and Sunil Raj Puri s/o Late Sat Paul of W- 1, Bishnah.
Police spokesman said, "On a specific information developed by Karanjit Singh, Dy.SP, Incharge, District Special Branch, Jammu and Inspector Aiyaz Wani, SHO Gangyal Police raised a surprised naka at Gangyal Chowk and intercepted two above mentioned accused." "During search of their belongings the police recovered 5 Kgs Poppy Straw from their possession", said police spokesman.
In this regard, a case under FIR No 50/2016 u/s 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and further investigation of the case is going on. |
