Banihal road mishap: Two tourists killed, 08 others injured,4 shifted to GMC&H

Banihal, May 4: Two tourist died while eight others sustained injuries when a tempo traveler rolled down in nullah Bichlari on Jammu Srinagar highway near Nachlana some 11 kilometers short from Banihal town. Meanwhile four of injured have been referred to Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu for advanced treatment.
Police reports said that the vehicle bearing registration number JK02AR-9269 with ten tourists from Kolkata (West Bengal) were on board when it met with an accident near Nachalana.
Police have identified the deceased as Sanjay Paul s/o Prosi Paul, Santoo Bishwas s/o Hari Bishwas of west Bengal while injured have been identified as Uarun Dau, Jaideep Paul, Bipan Roy, Somen Roy, Razia Roy, Chandan and Bappa all residents of west Bengal .
On receiving information about the accident, the police, QRT volunteers and troopers of 23 RR from nearby camp started rescue operation and evacuated injured to nearby hospital.
Sharing details about the accident, SHO Ramso Mohammad Amin said that he led the police party to the spot and started the rescue operation with the help of local QRT volunteers and Jawans of 23 Rastriya Rifles (RR).
"The team evacuated eight injured and two dead bodies from the accident spot, he said, adding, "all the injured persons were shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Banihal for the treatments from where four critically injured were shifted to GMC Jammu for further treatments
Police have registered a case in this connection in Police Station Ramsoo under relevant section and starts the further investigations.
