| 'Dabang' teacher turns JU nursery school into her fiefdom | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 3: In a shocking case of indiscipline surfaced in a Nursery School run by Home Sciences Department in University of Jammu with a lady teacher calling shots to spoil the career of kids of permanent varsity employees at the hands of a contractual teacher turned Dabang to create terror amongst parents of kids.
The sources sharing the recent development of school informed Early Times that a permanent employee of the University got his child admitted in the school recently and after dropping the child, he went to his office for duty.
The sources further told that after sometime, the child slipped from the school inadvertently leaving her school bag there and a local passerby seeing the child with her clothes stained with mud, dropped her home. Noticing the miserable condition of the kid, her mother rang up her husband inquiring about the whereabouts of the child, who in turn informed that the child is in the school. Getting exasperated, she asked her husband to immediately come back home and on reaching there, he was taken aback to see the child there with her clothes totally stained with mud, the sources said, adding that he immediately approached school teachers for such a negligence on their part which could have been hazardous for the very small child. The staff, however, realizing their laxity to take care of the child, requested him not to flare up this issue assuring him for full care of the child in future and matter stood as closed.
The sources further told that the matter did not end there and another contractual teacher, who was not present at the time of reporting the matter to staff , was briefed by other teachers about the incident and she instead of showing concern about the case of carelessness of staff and taking some remedial measures to streamline the care-taking system, she allegedly, started marking the absence of the child in the register to teach lesson to the father of the child despite dropping the child daily by the parents in the school. On inquiry from the contractual teacher as why circles have been put on the register against the name of his child, though she is being personally dropped daily, he was allegedly not given proper reply and the teacher made it an issue of the child and her parents over trivial manifesting arrogance and revengeful attitude against them and on frivolous grounds, the ordeal of the child's father started with the harassment of police at the instance of teacher, who happens to be the wife of an influential BJP minister , thus misusing the influence of her husband to teach lesson to the father instead of honestly teaching the child in the school and till now he is being got terrorized by her by using the police pressure on him to seek apology from the teacher for his no fault and as on date, the said contractual teacher is allegedly not attending the school ostensibly making it an issue of her prestige being wife of the Minister, the sources said.
The sources further informed that a wife of teacher of Jammu university working as contractual teacher has become excessively powerful like her Minister husband, who is reigning on the destiny of school children according to her whims and vagaries snubbing and terrorizing parents of kids misusing the name of her husband whosoever approaches the contractual teacher or other staff to lodge some complaint or find out how the child is pursuing his/her study in the school for which the parents shell out money from their pockets in terms of school fee and other charges. The sources told that the contractual lady teacher whose future is still bleak till she is regularized is supposed to instill a sense of discipline and regularity in the impressionable minds of tiny-tots, she is allegedly playing with the academic career of children by allegedly indulging into irregularity to attend her duty as a contractual teacher having developed the habit of remaining away from her duty in the school for days together keeping her students and their parents waiting, who are unable to open their mouth against her dictatorial attitude with University authority showering laxity and clemency on the undisciplined wife of its colleague to appease them both for fear of losing the job being performed to keep the powerful lady like BJP minister's wife in a good humor.
Recalling the days of last assembly elections, the sources revealed that contractual teacher missed the school for months together to help her husband. She flouted the rules as Govt Employees cannot campaign for any candidate. In the event of a contractual employee like the lady teacher remaining constantly absent from the school simply amounted to dereliction of duty losing her right to re-claim the job of a teacher , sources said, adding that the University Authority seems to be functioning in such cases of regular absence at the cost of small children allegedly on the recommendations of concerned HOD throwing into wind the rules and regulations governing the conduct of employees purely engaged on contract basis whose services were liable to be terminated forthwith but the conduct of the delinquent teacher vis-a-vis the conduct of the University Authority can easily be surmised as gross violation of rules by the former and deliberate attempt of the latter to desist from invoking relevant rules to handle the erring contractual teacher terminating her services ostensibly to please both husband and wife with the swift change of their stars who were till then the usual employees of the University like others facing varsity rules and statutes of the University for any act of omission and commission. |
