doda, May 4: In a bizarre incident, a 35-year-old man died while his cousin fell seriously ill after the duo consumed transformer oil under the influence of alcohol in Sohanda village of Doda Wednesday.
Both the cousins were brought to District Hospital Doda today morning after they complained of acute stomach pain and burning sensation, said a police officer.
After deterioration of their condition, both were shifted to Govt Medical College Jammu, where Bipan Lal died while Makhan Lal, 33, is battling for life.
Family sources told Greater Kashmir that Makhan Lal came to Bipan Lal's house last night and the duo consumed alcohol.
"After few hours of consuming liquor , they started feeling uncomfortable with acute burning sensation.
"Under the influence of alcohol, the duo consumed half a bottle of transformer oil lying in a cupboard there," said a family member. |
