ADDC orders withholding of salary of 'absent employees'

RAMBAN, May 20: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ramban, Ravinder Nath Sadhu today visited various government offices in Banihal besides inspecting ongoing developmental works being executed by the RDD and PWD in the areas and ordered withholding of salary of 'absent employees' who were found absent from their duties.
ADDC paid surprise visit at Municipal Committee (MC) office, Banihal, SDM office, Tehsildar office, Higher Secondary School Banihal, Sub District Hospital Banihal, Agriculture office and BDO office Banihal.
During the inspection, various officials and officers were found absent from duty without any prior permission.
The reprimanded include Khilafwarzi Inspector Rizwana Shaheen, Tax Collector Syeeda Begum and Zahid Jahangir from MC office Banihal, Dr. Sameer Abdullah of Sub District Hospital Banihal, Aseya Naaz Lecturer Urdu and Khurshid Ahmed Lecture Zoology of Higher Secondary School Banihal. The salary of Shafat Ullah, Khilafwazi inspector was also withheld for poor performance of the official.
ADDC directed the concerned district officers to withhold the salary and call explanation from all absent officials within four days and submit the reports and recommendations to his office for further action.
Meanwhile, he also visited various schools and reviewed functioning, education standards being made available to the students. He inspected Midday Meal at High School Chareel and expressed displeasure over the quality of meal and directed the ZEO Banihal to regularly check the mid day meal in every school and ensure the quality of meal.
ADDC directed the teachers to ensure hygienic conditions and nutrition level of the Meal. Besides this he also directed the officials to perform their duties with punctuality and regularity without making the general public to suffer.
Responding to the issues put forth by the people, the ADDC gave necessary instructions to the concerned officers for accelerating the speed of construction works. He further assured the people that their genuine demands would be redressed on priority bases.
