Doda Youth angry over snapping of mobile Internet facility

Kishtwar, Aug 31: The youths of Doda and Kishtwar, particularly the students today slammed the government and administration for continues snapping of internet facilities in Kishtwar and Doda District for last 27 days.
Some of angry youths said that snapped mobile internet facility is adding miseries of the common people especially the student community which is the worst affected due to snapped mobile internet service in the region.
While talking to "Early Times", the angry students said that due to non availability of internet facilities, the students fail to fill up the various scholarship scheme forms including the centrally sponsored minority scholarship scheme. They also questioned the administration's decision to switch off data services in parts of Erstwhile Doda district.
They lamented that the continued internet blocking has made them to suffer in terms of applying for various educational course as well as for online jobs. "Though Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India has extended its date up to September 30, but due to non availability of internet, students fail to fill up the scholarship form online, they alleged.
"Not only the students but the business community too is feeling the brunt of the case as the internet banking too got partially hit due to mobile internet blocking, said a local trader and urged authorities and government to lift the ban without any further delay.
They said that whole population of the area could not be held hostage by blocking internet services and said that in present era, if any person misuse the internet could be punished individually under law.
Irked over snapping of mobile internet services, the angry youths said that internet plays key role in collecting study material, beside keep them aware about advertisement of various job oriented posts for 24X7 but now they are dependent on internet café's only which are countable and fail to bear the burden of huge population.
"If administration is afraid of the circulation of inciting messages on microblogs like Whatsapp and Facebook then they should block these applications instead of blocking the whole internet services, one of the agitated students said.
The Internet restriction is confined to mobile data only, however broadband and lease lines are working as routine affairs but most of the people are dependent on mobile data only.
Many angry students even have threatened to launch protest in case the government did not lift the internet blockade.
Meanwhile Mobile recharge outlets also informed that the business was hit badly and the sale was reduce by more than 60% in last two months which is the major cause of concern for them.
