| Despite successful surgical operations world favours dialogue | | |
Though India has been lauded
for carrying out surgical strikes
across Uri killing 38 terrorists,emphasis, within the state or from China or from Britain or from other developed nations is on dialogue instead of war.Notwithstanding New Delhi'having informed 22 nations about the surgical strikes against the launch pads across the LOC where militants were being carried by the Army and the ISI for being pushed into the Kashmir valley for raising the level of violence.What the country waited for,what the people expected,what Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, announced could be achieved on Thursday morning when a small group of Indian troops crawled through the porous border and eliminated 38 terrorists who were waiting on the launch pads.It was a secret but successful operation that has rattled Pakistan which would believe that India was wellversed in exchanging war of words simply but the Indian troops did what others could have not done so despite upgraded security grid in Pakistan.No doubt Bangladesh has supported the surgical strike but support from Bangladesh is not a guarantee that all the developed nations would support the operation. If many countries have supported the operation it is because of anger against Pakistan which is treated as a haven for breeding terror outfits.
Well the Indian troops have displayed valour and strategy but Pakistani forces will not remain silent.That is the reason that scores of border villages right from Kashmir to Rajasthan,including Punjab,have been evacuated lest Pakistan troops and terrorists carry out deady strikes.In fact India is getting ready to meet any eventuality That is the reason that high alert has been sounded in the Union capital and other border states.The Kashmir valley is the grip of fear people have become apprehensive of the role of Pakistani forces. The fear is prominent in Jammu too because border villagers are scared about the mischief on the part of Pakistani troops.Political leaders,right from Mehbooba Mufti to Farooq Abdullah have been gripped by fear as they expect Pakistan to retaliate .That is the reason that both Mehbooba and Farooq Abdullah have called for restraint and starting of the process of dialogue to settle some ticklish issues.
Well during the last one month, especially since September 18, when 18 soldiers were killed when terrorists from across the LOC attacked a camp in Uri, India has been on the offensive.It has started talking of revising the Indus Water Treaty,revising the MFN status given to Pakistan in 1996.New Delhi in general and Modi in particular were heard saying that the martyrdom of 18 soldiers will not get wasted and instead of 18 Indian troops killed 38 terrorists. And still Pakistan initially denied any report on the surgical operations and later claimed that two Pak soldiers were killed.It deliberately observed silence on the killing of terrorists because that would have further exposed Pakistan. Notwithstanding successs a group of Indian troops achieved in killing 38 militants the emphasis is on dialogue and not on war. Various developed nations , including China,US,the UK and France favour dialogue process between India and Pakistan for settling bilateral issues. |
