Early Times Report
Jammu, May 24: Instead of fulfill long pending demands of border people, BJP and PDP leaders are these days busy is 'excursion tours' of the camps where Pakistani shelling affected people have taken shelter.
During 2014 Parliamentary and assembly polls, BJP had promised to provide alternative land to the people living near the border. And furthermore, BJP had also promised to grant reservation to the people living near International Border (IB). Three and half years have been passed after formation of PDP-BJP government in J&K but not even a single step has been taken to fulfill these promises.
BJP leadership had half-hearted tried to take some issues of people living on the IB but due to pressure from PDP no progress was made on such issues. PDP leadership is well aware that people living on IB are not their vote bank so there is no need to give importance to their genuine demands. People living on IB had voted for BJP so it was duty of the party leadership to fulfill the commitments made by those people.
But unfortunately weak BJP leadership, whose only aim is to remain in power, has failed to take up stand before PDP to heed woes of IB residents.
Credible sources said that BJP ministers in the government have never taken border residents demands seriously before the government. Their one and only concerned is transfers and postings of officers of their choices.
Now after beginning of blood-bath on the IB, leaders of both the parties are shamelessly visiting camps where shelling affected people have taken shelter. People are bravely taking BJP leaders to task for not solving their problems.
As far as PDP leaders are concerned, they are also visiting border areas these days for photo sessions without knowing that it is their leadership that has sabotaged any move to solve problems of IB residents.
