Guest Lecture on "Networking CCNA, Routers & its Installation" at YCET

JAMMU, Apr 17: To make the students know about the basics of networking & its essentials, Department of Computer Engineering & Information Technology of Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) organized Corporate Extension Lecture on "Networking CCNA, Routers & its Installation" for the students of 6th and 8th Semester of Computer Sciences Engineering & Information Technology. The lecture was delivered by Er. Rahul Jamwal, Operational Manager in & Er. Yudvir Singh, Project Engineer from Wipro.
Both the speakers briefed the students about the role & skills required for a corenetwork engineer & ensure students to stay relevant with skill sets needed for the adoption of next generation technologies. The objectives of the session were to explain the importance of CCNA to help the students understand its practical view & related further opportunities. They emphasized that CCNA is virtually a gateway to networking & is a pre-requisite to other courses such as CCNP. The speakers further explained concepts like TCP/IP, IP Addressing & Sub netting, Routing Information Protocol (RIP), Routing Information Protocol V2 (RIPv2), etc. Practical knowledge & demonstration about Router, Hub, classes & versions of IP. The session helped students gain clarity & confidence over networking concepts studied in the curriculum along with the knowledge about the same with reference to career prospects. Dr. Arvind Dewangan Director, YCET, in his addressed, apprised the students that the college is not just dedicated to impart theoretical knowledge but also inculcate the spirit of technical skill set required for their career in the corporate sector.
Er. Dinesh Gupta, Head of the Department of Computer Science Engineering & Information Technology), and faculty members from the Department were also present during the guest lecture. The mementos were presented to the resource persons by the HOD.
