Natya Utsav begins at Abhinav Theatre

Jammu, Apr 22: Natya Utsav - 6 day theatrical treat to pay tribute to legendary iconic figure of the State Late Kavi Rattan Sharma began at Abhinav Theatre. Various theatre groups will showcase their performances in this fest. 1st play "Aadhe Adhure" written by Mohan Rakesh and directed by Veena Dogra was staged and it was well appreciated by audience. On 2nd day of Natya Utsav has brought the play "Saas Puraan" written and directed by Shashi Bhushan that received great applause for its beautiful portrays of characters on stage.
A total 6 plays will be showcased in the Utsav beginning from April 21st to April 26th 2019. The tribute by Amateur Theatre Group in coordination with Unison Cultural Troupe has brought more significance to the Fest as Recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee and an ace Theatre director Mushtaq Kak was the pupil of Late Kavi Rattan Sharma and had sported a ling cherished dream to pay tributes to the only NSD graduate pass out of the state by conducting a theatre festival on his name. It is pertinent to mention here that Mushtaq Kak who has directed more than 100 plays in Dogri, Hindi, and English and even in Sanskrit at various parts of the country.
