Jammu, Oct 20: The Aam Admi Party (AAP) government in Punjab has once again been caught on the wrong foot as the Punjab state employees, who have been on strike since October 10 have decided to puncture the tall promises of the party by organizing “pol khol” rallies in the poll bound Himachal Pradesh.
During its election campaign this February, one of the Aam Aadmi Party’s key poll promises in Punjab was to revive the old pension scheme in the first month of coming to power. Seven months since, despite Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s announcement in September that the party was “considering” restoring the scheme, it remains in the discussions stage.

New Delhi, Oct 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a mega 'Rozgar Mela' of job fest, a drive to recruit 10 lakh people, on October 22 via video-conference and appointment letters will be given to 75,000 candidates during the ceremony, the PM's Office said on Thursday.
The PM's Office said this will be a significant step forward towards fulfilling the continuous commitment of the prime minister to providing job opportunities for the youth and ensuring welfare of citizens.

Jammu, Oct 20: With no let up in sponsoring of terror into India, Pakistan is now shifting its “terror focus” on the hinterland of Jammu region putting the security grid on tenterhooks.

Jammu, Oct 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday constituted a seven-member committee to examine the transfer policy for the reserved category employees serving in Kashmir Valley.
The Committee is headed by the Principal Secretary of the Higher Education Department. Other members of the panel include the Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare Department, the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, the Secretary of the Government General Administration Department, the Secretary of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, and a representative of ARI and Training Department.
