BR Kundal may have worked in the civil secretariat –of and on –for 30 years but on the day one as Chief Secretary he pointed out the hanging wiring system, disarrayed electricity supply and a lift which is not secure enough.
A day after formally taking over as the Chief Secretary, Kundal today chaired a high level meeting with the officers and called for gearing up the official machinery so that the Civil Secretariat is made fully functional by next Monday.

Wife of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) PK Gupta and his in-laws were among four persons killed on the spot near Chichi Mata when they were on way to Samba from Jammu.
Gupta’s wife Neelam, her mother Sushila Gupta, father Niranjan Gupta and driver Anil Kumar were killed in the accident when the Maruti van (JK02M 0615) they were traveling in was hit by a bus near Chich Mata. One identified as Yash Pal was reported injured in the accident.
