Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 26: Even as over 100 supporters of “loyalists” of Ghulam Nabi Azad have resigned from the Democratic Azad Party (DAP) but these leaders are unlikely to be properly accommodated in the Congress party due to reservations of some leaders. Drone sighting along Pak border tripled in 1-year

Agencies New Delhi, Dec 26: There has been a threefold increase in drone sighting incidents along the India-Pakistan border, with 311 observations of such Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAVs) till December 23 this year compared to 104 in 2021. Besides this data collated by the Border Security Force (BSF), which is mandated to guard the 3,323 km India-Pakistan border, the drone sighting incidents have quadrupled as compared to 2020 when 77 UAVs — a major source of smuggling arms and ammunition, as well as drugs into India — were observed along the Pakistan border. Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday averted a major tragedy by recovering an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from Basantgarh area of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir. Police said that an IED weighing approximately 15-kg was recovered during a patrol launched on specific inputs. Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 26: Two persons were killed when a truck they were travelling in rolled down into a deep gorge in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police said that a LPG gas cylinders laden truck early morning on Monday met with an accident and rolled down deep into the gorge near Battery Chashma. Early Times Report Srinagar, Dec 26: The minimum temperature in Kashmir rose by a couple of degrees but stayed below the freezing point offering little respite from cold conditions, officials said today. The valley is going through a dry spell with no major precipitation forecast till the end of December. However, there is a possibility of a brief wet spell this week, the MET department said.
