VC Kashmir University calls on Governor

SRINAGAR, May 9 : Prof. Talat Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, Kashmir University, called on Mr. N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan, here today. Prof. Talat Ahmad briefed the Governor, who is Chancellor of the Kashmir University, about the successful completion of the admissions to the various courses and about the commencement of the teaching schedules. The Governor also discussed with Prof. Talat Ahmad the functioning of the main Campus and off-site Campuses of the University. The Vice Chancellor also briefed the Governor about the to-date status of various ongoing research projects undertaken by the University and those in the pipeline. He informed the Governor about the eminent persons, nearly two dozen, who shall be visiting the University in the coming weeks for professional consultations and, besides, to address the students on important themes. ...

SRINAGAR : On the suggestion of Mr. N. N. Vohra, Governor Jammu and Kashmir, an interactive lecture was delivered by Dr. D. Subbarao, Governor, Reserve Bank of India, on “RBI – Making a Difference in Everyday Life”, at the J&K Bank Corporate Headquarter here last evening in which the students and academia of the University of Kashmir participated. The Governor, who was Chief Guest on this occasion, observed that Reserve Bank of India is a vital national institution which has been playing a crucial role in the economic development of the country.
