| Good News: It may rain! | | | |
Jammu, June 11: If you thought that today temperature surpassed two-decade record of highest mercury jump in the city, then you were probably wrong. It was the humidity in the atmosphere which made life difficult in the town.
After a sweltering and scorching day there is some good news at last. If the weatherman is to be believed there may be some showers in next 24 hours. The Met officials, according to the satellite images, have predicted brief showers in a day’s time. If proved true, this may bring some respite from the hostile weather.
According to the Meteorological Department reading, the temperature in Jammu city today registered a significant decline over the previous day’s recording of above 46 degrees. The maximum temperature recorded on Sunday was highest in last two decades.

Jammu, June 11: No patchwork among warring partners in power corridors is in sight as the strange-bedfellows –the Peoples Democratic Party and the Congress –fought it yet again today as the State Cabinet met in Srinagar under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
The cabinet had on its agenda an elaborate list of transfers and postings in the administration but due to differences among the major partners, nothing substantial could be executed. The embittered Peoples Democratic Party Ministers showing no signs of reconciliation with the Congress created noisy scenes in the meeting prolonging the deliberations to more than three hours.

Ongoing heat wave has not only caused concerns to the common people due to the shooting mercury but this has also created a panic among the chemists and druggist including the wholesale dealers in medicines about the maintenance of the cold chain for these drugs.
Ongoing heat wave with unscheduled power curtailments has created apprehensions among the people and the medicine dealers. While the people are worried about the heat and are looking desperately for the water and the power supply to feel a breather in this hot but the medicine dealers are worried about the damage of the photo-thermal sensitive medicines.
