Jammu, June 11: If you thought that today temperature surpassed two-decade record of highest mercury jump in the city, then you were probably wrong. It was the humidity in the atmosphere which made life difficult in the town. After a sweltering and scorching day there is some good news at last. If the weatherman is to be believed there may be some showers in next 24 hours. The Met officials, according to the satellite images, have predicted brief showers in a day’s time. If proved true, this may bring some respite from the hostile weather. According to the Meteorological Department reading, the temperature in Jammu city today registered a significant decline over the previous day’s recording of above 46 degrees. The maximum temperature recorded on Sunday was highest in last two decades. Though today’s highest temperature was recorded at 42.3 degrees –almost four degrees less than the previous day’s –but the weather was little more hostile throughout the day. Jammu June 11 Ongoing heat wave has not only caused concerns to the common people due to the shooting mercury but this has also created a panic among the chemists and druggist including the wholesale dealers in medicines about the maintenance of the cold chain for these drugs. Ongoing heat wave with unscheduled power curtailments has created apprehensions among the people and the medicine dealers.
