| Where will Omar play his next innings? | | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 12: Deciding a turf for Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the forthcoming Assembly elections has become a matter of grave concern for the National Conference leadership.
The former spokesperson of the NC, Tanvir Sadiq in a discussion hosted by a local newspaper last week said it was entirely Omar Abdullah's call. "He may or may not contest from Ganderbal. He is a voter from Sonawar constituency and can contest from there as well," he said.
However, senior leaders suggest Hazratbal constituency for Omar to prove his prowess. The said constituency is considered a strong bastion of the NC.
The Sheikh Family, it is widely believed is scared of contesting from Ganderbal as the area turned tables around for NC during the Parliamentary elections. The PDP, it is said has made deep inroads in the area.
The Additional General Secretary, Mustafa Kamaal on December 8, 2013 declared that Omar shall not contest from Ganderbal. However, Omar clarified stating that Kamaal can talk for Hazratbal which he represents.

| | | | Why is Azad indecisive about returning to state? | | | | Rustam
JAMMU, June 12: Why is Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and former Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad indecisive about returning to state politics? The reasons are not far to seek. The reason is that the Congress in Jammu and Kashmir, like in 5th rest of the country, has become thoroughly unpopular and there is hardly any taker for it in the state where it has been acting like a B-team of the arrogant and unaccommodating National Conference. The fact of the matter is that the Congress lost its way in the state after Indira Gandhi brought down her own party's Government in Jammu and Kashmir in 1975 and handed over the state power to Sheikh Abdullah whom her father Jawaharlal Nehru ha... | |
