14- Member HM module busted

BARAMULLA, June 7: In a major breakthrough, Jammu and Kashmir Police busted a 14-member Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) module allegedly responsible for detonating Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) through mobile phones and killing of dozen of people, including a senior Congress leader, in North Kashmir. After working for several weeks, the police arrested 14 HM militants from different parts of Baramulla and Sopore, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police for North Kashmir Dr Srinivasan told reporters here today.. He said special police teams were formed after receiving a tip off that a group of HM militants, responsible for causing blasts and attacking security forces and civilians were hiding in Baramulla and Sopore. The North Kashmir Police Chief said raids were conducted in different parts during which 14 militants were arrested. Two pistols and large cache of arms and ammunition, besides huge quantity of explosives were recovered from their possession. Jammu | May 27 Death of a patient admitted in the Government Medical College here for past several days sparked off strong protests against the negligence and insensitive behavior of doctors posted there. The trouble started when Naresh Kumar, who was admitted in the hospital on May 23 after he suffered head injuries during a fall from house stairs, died here today for want of timely treatment. Crest fallen, hapless relatives gathered outside the emergency ward of the hospital and shouted slogans holding Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Health Minister Mangat Ram Sharma responsible for the negligent behavior of the doctors. AMRITSAR MAY 26 Two Indian prisoners were repatriated by Pakistan today. The two Indian nationals were identified as Altaf Hussain Khan, resident of Srinagar, and Iqbal Karim, hailing from Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here. Both Altaf Hussain Khan and Iqbal Karim had gone to Pakistan on a valid visa on April 2006. CHANDIGARH, MAY 27 The Akal Takht tonight remained undecided about the apology by the Dera Sacha Sauda head on the alleged sacrilege of Guru Gobind Singh and said its high priests would meet shortly to decide its course of action. "We have not received the document. Moreover the document (containing the apology) is unsigned... The five high priests will take a decision on the Dera's move," Akal Takht head, Jathedar Joginder Singh Vedanti said here.
