Jammu being developed as heritage city: Wani

Early Times Report JAMMU, July 27 : Minister for Roads & Buildings and Mechanical Engineering Mr. Abdul Majid Wani on Saturday said that Jammu would be developed as Heritage city, while several projects are underway with regards to its beautification. The Minister was interacting with the representatives of Raghunath Bazar Business Association here today during his tour of the city conducted to inspect the pace of progress on the developmental and public utility projects being executed by various departments. Taking review of the Raghunath Bazar beautification project, the Minister was informed that the project envisages to give the Bazar a new look and for being the hub of business activities showcase it as a local heritage. He said the historic Raghunath temple makes the area one of the most important places in the city which attracts thousands of tourists daily. Early Times Report JAMMU, July 27 : Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Mr. Raman Bhalla today inspected ongoing flood protection work over Balol nallah along floriculture Garden at Bhour Camp. The Minister inquired about the status of embankment work along the garden taken up at a cost of Rs 2.80 crore. He asked Irrigation and Flood Control department to complete the project in double shifts to save the prestigious garden and the property of the people residing close to the Nallah from flash floods. Shopian, July 27 : Three doctors were placed under suspension and two other medical officers transferred by authorities in different places of Kashmir Valley. The transferred officials were allegedly involved in unsafe injection practices. An official spokesman in a statement issued to Global News Service (GNS) said that a doctor Nusrat, a Gynecologist was suspended after Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Javed Khan found him absent from duty while conducting surprise visit to District Hospital and inspected its functioning. 2 killed, one hurt in Mendhar road mishap

Mendhar : Two persons were killed while another one was seriously injured when a tipper skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Jarhan Wali Gali area of Surankote last night. A police spokesman said that the mishap took place at round 9.15 pm when the tipper (JK-12/1962) was on way to Surankote from Mendhar. As it reached near Jarhan Wali Gali, the driver lost control and it landed into a deep gorge in the result two person killed and one critically injured Zahid Ahmed, resident of Marha in Surankote was rushed to Surankot hospital.
