Jammu, Sept 4: The memories of last year's coalition blues today freshened up once again, as embittered Peoples Democratic Party leader Qazi Mohammad Afzal today resigned as Minister from the Azad government saying that he was hurt by stripping of his Forest portfolio.
Qazi Mohammad Afzal was holding the charge of the departments of Housing, Urban Development, Forests, Environment and Ecology. Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had on Sunday stripped Qazi of his Forest, Environment and Ecology departments without citing any reasons thereof. The reports, however, later suggested that Qazi's department was withdrawn following allegations of misappropriations in the Forest department.
The decision of Qazi's stepping down as Minister came after arrival of Peoples Democratic Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on summer capital Srinagar. The Muftis –Mehbooba and Mufti Sayeed –were away in Delhi when Qazi was stripped of his portfolio. Soon after reaching Srinagar, Mufti advised Qazi to step down, said sources.

According to eyewitnesses, Sanjay Dutt walked towards the shrine with his head down and the moment he entered in to the sanctum sanctorum he folded his hands and touched his forehead, along with his girl friend Manyata, on the marble platform inside cave shrine. His eyes became moist while seeking blessings from the goddess. Eyewitnesses said during his two and a half minute stay inside the holy cave he kept on mumbling,”Maa mujhe maaf kar do”.

Srinagar Sep 4: A tourist from United States was among five people killed and four others injured in the Kashmir valley and Ladakh region overnight, official sources said.
They said a tourist Robinson Michel Forbes, with passport number 016499132 and a resident of Silver fox Lane Reston, USA, was found dead in his hotel room at Leh in Ladakh region this morning.
Robinson was staying in the hotel since September 2, they said.
The sources said that body of one Manzoor Ahmad Tak was fished out from Ahrabal Nallah in south Kashmir last night.

Anantnag Sept 4: The army in South Kashmir has today again urged people not to touch abandoned shells that rained down on villages after one of its biggest ammunition depots caught fire last month.
The warning came after a civilian was killed and six others hurt Monday evening when they touched an abandoned shell in southern Khundroo village.
The fire at the depot killed some 20 people, mostly soldiers, and displaced nearly 20,000 villagers.
"Villagers returning to their houses and area should continue to take precautions and remain vigilant," army spokesman Anil Kumar Mathur said.
