| BJP High Command serious on re-entry of seven expelled MLAs | | | Early Times Report NEW DELHI, Oct 22: As the expulsion of seven MLAs from the Party is going to hit its poll prospectus in next Parliamentary and Assembly elections in the State, BJP High Command is seriously thinking of re-admitting them in party fold. According to Party sources the BJP national chief Nitin Gadkari who had called the core group of Partymen from J&K to deliberate various issues pertaining to party affairs in the State, has reportedly asked them to evolve a consensus on various issues confronting the Party as well as re-admission to expelled MLAs into the Party prior to Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Sources said Gadkari has urged the Partymen from the State to gear up for the next Lok Sabha elections which are expected in mid of March or April next year. Gadkari made it clear to Partymen that the days of UPA Government led by Dr Manmohan Singh are numbered and they should move in the constituencies and gear up for the polls. The sources said the BJP national president has also urged the Party men to evolve a consensus on selection of candidates for the next Lok Sabha elections and on election of new State party chief. The High Command ruled out any interference in the matter instead suggested the State leadership to settle all these issues through consensus. Gadkari according to sources is also particular for readmission of the disqualified MLAs into party fold as he does not want that the vote of BJP should get divided in the State which can give an edge to the opponents of the Party and cause an embarrassing situation for them. However, no preconditions from the expelled MLAs will be accepted, sources added. Keeping this opinion in mind the BJP national chief has suggested bringing of all seven disqualified MLAs into Party fold and to solicit the opinion of the core Group from the State he held a marathon meeting with them for over two hours on October 21, sources said. Sources said the High Command has given the feeling to Party men to concentrate on three Lok Sabha seats in the State which besides the Jammu-Poonch and Kathua-Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency include Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency also. |
