EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu , Oct 30 : Power Grid Corporation of India is observing Vigilance Awareness Week from 29th October to 02nd November 2012 in its all offices falling under Northern Region Transmission System-II. According to official spokesperson, during the Vigilance Awareness Week, several programmes are being organized in various schools apart from site offices for creating awareness among the employees and their family members highlighting evils of corruption and its impact on our society. On the first day of the week ,at its NRTS-II Regional Headquarters, Jammu pledge was administered to all its employees by the Executive Director, S C Singh. "Messages of President of India, Vice President of India and Prime Minister of India were read out by K R Suri, General Manager (O&M), S K Sharma, General Manager (Projects) and Sunil Agarwal, General Manager (PSTCL) respectively, the statement said. Message of Central Vigilance Commissioner Pradeep Kumar, Vigilance Commissioners R Sri Kumar and J M Garg was read out by DGM Vigilance Paramjit Singh during the occasion. During a programme organized today at its Regional Head quarters , a Jammu Vendors meet was organized to sensitize various them about the some of the common issues that haunt the vendors during construction and operation of transmission system. Senior Executives of all the major vendors of POWERGRID attended the meet. Prominent among those companies that attended the meet are KEC, L&T, EMCO, RS Gill & Company , GET , Siemens , TATA Projects, Aster, Paramjit Singh, DGM(Vigilance) welcomed all the participants. He appraised them of the steps being taken by Government of India and CVC in eradication of the menace of Corruption in our country. He also highlighted the efforts of POWERGRID in this direction. In his address , S C Singh , ED NRTS-II threw light on various issues being faced in the execution of the works. He asked the vendors to undertake the works as per the specifications and norms stipulated in the contract agreements. The meet was highly interactive with all vendors putting up their points of view on various subjects. Vendors also shared their experiences and difficulties being faced by them during the execution of the works. The panelists of POWERGRID assured the vendors of taking all necessary steps in mitigating them. Other senior officials including K R Suri GM (O&M) and S K Sharma GM (Projects) also were present on the occasion. In the end S K Sharma , GM(Projects) presented vote of thanks to the gathering. |
