JAMMU, Nov 17: Accusing the State Government of its total failure in solving the long pending and vital issues of the Kashmiri Pandits leading an exiled life for over last 22 years in Jammu and other parts of the country All Parties Migrants Co-ordination Committee (APMCC) today warned to start the second phase of agitation.
The APMCC leaders led by its president Vinod Pandit which had been on 10 day long fast unto death in October 2011 demanding the constitution of Prabandhak Board on the pattern of Gurudwara Parbandhak Board and Wakaf Board for protection of Hindu religious places and shrines in Kashmir Valley most of which have either been vandalized or raised to ground by anti national elements during last 22 years of turmoil while the land of many shrines has either been encroached by mafia or some Government agencies is up in arms against the Government's apathy towards the community.
The AMCCC while announcing its next phase of agitation in protest against the callousness of the Government toward the long pending demands of the displaced Pandits and fulfillment of the assurance given to APMCC while calling of its fast unto death on the assurance of Minister of Medical Education RS Chib in October 2011 said that it will launch the second phase of fast unto death from January next year.
Sandeep Bhat Kashmir in-charge APMCC while castigating the State Government said that his organization will not be a mute spectator to the vandalizing of the religious places of Hindus in Valley as they are the ancient monuments whose preservation is must for the posterity.
He said the APMCC has yet to take the final decision regarding the venue of fast unto death and either it will be Srinagar in Kashmir valley or Porbandar in Gujarat. However, the final date about the venue will be intimated soon.
He while highlighting the six point charter of demands of his organization said APMCC is demanding dialogue with Pakistan for facilitating visit to world famous Sharda Peeth temple in PoK, establishment of Sharda University in J&K, probe into the encroachment of temples land in the state, passage of Shrines and Temples Bill pending in State Assembly, sanction of one time compensation to overaged youth and launching of special employment drive for the non migrant Hindu youth of Valley.
Bhat said that pilgrimage to Shara shrine will be one of the Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) for displaced Pandits and the Government should take up this issue with Government of Pakistan at an earliest.
He alleged that the Government was turning a deaf year to the demands of the displaced Pandits and the same can't be tolerated for long now and APMCC has decided to go ahead with its agitational programme from next year.
