Kishtwar, Nov 17:- The local unite of BJP today approached the police to register an FIR against National Conference additional general secretary, Dr Mustafa Kamaal for his anti-India speech last week.
A delegation of BJP comprising over two dozen activists led by district president Capt Hukum Chand after seeking legal advice from the lawyers approached the concerned police station and urged the SHO to register an FIR against Kamaal, MLA Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo and former MLA Inderwal Qazi Jalal-ud-Din.
The delegation even offered to provide evidence of Kamaal's speech that triggered a major controversy across the State. The delegation later approached the concerned SSP and sought his intervention. The SSP reportedly told the delegation that the police will look into the matter and take appropriate action under law.
Later talking to media persons, Hukum Chand said he will approach the court if police refused to register an FIR. "We waited for a week or so with the hope that Kishtwar police would take suo moto action and register an FIR. Since police did not take any action, we were left with no option but to approach them for registering a case",he said.
He said both MLA Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo and Ex MLA Inderwal Qazi Jalal-ud-Din were equally responsible for failing to restrain Kamaal from making an anti-national statement.
He said that Congress party in Jammu and Kashmir not only helps the NC to promote corruption, but also seems covering up anti Indian forces by giving them support. He said the Congress party must share the equally responsibility for Kamaal's anti India remark. He said that BJP will launch an agitation in case police denied justice to them.
Meanwhile, after BJP threat, SSP Kishtwar reportedly held a series of meeting with senior police officers to find out the legal grounds to meet out the BJP demand of registration of an FIR against Mustafa Kamaal, who happens to the brother of Union Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah and uncle of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
