| Illicit relations behind killing of married woman | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Dec 3: The police has worked out murder mystery with the arrest of main accused and revealed that illicit relations have been found behind killing of a woman reportedly went missing since Nov 18. According to police one lady Seema Devi (name changed) R/O Tehsil Basohli went missing and her relatives including husband lodged complaint with Police Station Basholi on Nov 24. During the course of investigation the police with the help of locals, recovered the dead body of Seema Devi from Magyar Nallah on Nov 25. Preliminary investigation show that the body contained several injury marks and prima facie it appeared that the deceased person had rolled down the hill. Thereafter autopsy of the body was conducted after identification and proceedings U/S174 CrPC were initiated to ascertain the circumstances of the mysterious death. However during the course of the investigation police chanced upon some convincing clues, including the statements of the deceased's relatives, which led the police to convert the inquest proceeding to a case of murder. Accordingly, FIR No.52/2012 U/S 302 RPC was lodged at P/S Bani on 02.12.2012. On 03.12.2012, the police rounded up the main suspect in the case, namely, Sandeep Kumar alias Sonu S/O Krishan Chand R/O Hutt Tehsil Basholi. During interrogation of the suspect it came to light that he was having an illicit relationship with the deceased for the past several months. However his marriage was fixed with someone else and further turning relations between the two unpleasant and hostile. The accused during the questioning told the police that on Nov 18he picked up the deceased from Mahanpur in his Mahindra Load carrier No. JK08B-3765 and headed towards Bani. During the journey the couple began to quarrel. In a fit of anger the accused banged the deceased head against the dashboard of the vehicle due to which the later became unconscious. Later, at Magyar Nallah, the accused took out the deceased from the vehicle (who was still unconscious) and threw her down from the ridge resulting in her death. "The gruesome crime was solved within a week's time by a team of Police station Bani headed by SHO SI Nayat Ali under the supervision of the Rafiq Manhas SDPO Basholi. Police is in the process of collecting further evidence in the case, police reports said. |
