| J&K in winning mode as Parvez, Ian hit tons | | Ranji Trophy Group-C tie against Assam | | early times report JAMMU, Dec 3: With 430 runs still needed with seven wickets remaining to match J&K score on the last day of the play tomorrow, hosts Assam find itself in the troubled waters in the ongoing Ranji Trophy Group-C match at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati in Assam today. Earlier, sailing on a morale boosting 158 runs first innings lead, J&K started their second innings play on a positive note this morning. Making a beginning from yesterday's total of one run without last, J&K played some fine knocks to declare their innings at 318 runs for the loss of five wickets in the post tea session. On way to chase an accumulated total of 431 runs to win the match, Assam lost their three wickets for just 46 runs in 25 overs play in their second innings. Contrary to their first innings, J&K witnessed some heroic knocks from openers, Ian Dev Singh and Adil Rishi. Both added 77 runs for the first wicket stand when Adil lost his wickets soon after completing his quick half century. However, Ian Dev Singh, who could not do well in previous three matches, except for a half century, played captains knock completing his ton. Both these batsman hit two sixes each during their splendid innings. It was followed by sensational innings played by Parvez Rasool, who made unbeaten 120 runs coming off just 106 deliveries studded with two sixes and 17 boundaries.
