| Stage set for counting of votes | | MLC Elections | | JAMMU: Two halls in the Government Polytechnic College Jammu have been earmarked for counting of votes for the Legislative Council elections from Panchayat quota J1 & J2. The counting will starts at 8 a.m. in the morning for 66 polling stations. There will be six rounds of counting. Five rounds will be of 12 EVMs and in the last round there will be 6 EVMs. The three tier security has been deployed around the Counting halls. The elections to these two constituencies were held on 3rd of December, 2012. The fate of 21 candidates from Jammu region will be decided in these two counting halls. It is pertinent to mention here that about 90% polling was recorded in four seats of Legislative Council in the State. Earlier, Chief Electoral Officer Umang Narula and Divisional Commissioner Jammu Pardeep Gupta visited the Government Polytechnic Jammu and took stock of the arrangements being made for counting.DIG Jammu-Kathua Range J. P. Singh, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma, Joint Director Information Jammu Soujanya Sharma also accompanied with them. |
