| 16 years old girl dies suspiciously, family alleges medical negligence | | Hospital horror continues! | | Sahil Suhail
Anantnag, Dec 5: In yet another case of alleged medical negligence, 16 years old girl died suspiciously in district hospital Anantnag on Monday evening. Anantnag police has initiated inquest proceedings into the incident. Deceased girl has been identified as Saima Jan daughter of Abdul Rashid Bhat resident of Magam Kokernag Anantnag . Annoyed family members of the deceased protested inside the hospital against the negligence of doctors and demanded stern against them. Family members alleged that the deployed doctors injected the girl that later caused her death. Protesters were later pacified by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag who visited the hospital after the incident. Abdul Rafiq Bhat, One of the family member of the deceased girl said, "Saima(deceased girl) complained of headache and we quickly rushed to district hospital Anantnag and admitted the patient in emergency where doctor on duty prescribed some medicines and injected her". He said, "After injecting, doctors discharged her and so we got the medicine from the nearby medical store. When we reached to Thagiwara some kilometres forway from Anantnag, patient again complained of pain in stomach . we again rushed back to the hospital and admitted the patient whereafter one hour she died". Family members are alleging that the doctor on duty identified as Dr Imran gave the deceased a wrong injection that caused her death. When contacted Medical superintendent of the district hospital Anantnag, Dr Fazil Kochak refuted the allegations of family members and denied any negligence and claimed that she was brought dead in the hospital on Monday evening. "No, there is no question of any kind of negligence, patient was admitted in emergency ward and at 4:00pm she was discharged after she was feeling well" Said Kochak, adding, " after one hour she was brought dead in the hospital and some people started shouting slogans against the doctors". He said that the body was handed over to the family after post portem that will reveal the reality. "We are waiting for post-mortem report till that time nothing could be said." Kochak said. Meanwhile soon after the death of the girl Anantnag police has initiated inquest proceedings under section under 174 CrPC.
